"What an incredible weekend!" exclaimed Dirk Speybroeck and his partner, veterinarian Piet Blancke, almost in unison. "Our pigeons have been returning brilliantly all season long, but this weekend was something truly special. Everything started with the National Châteauroux race. We basketed three old birds, and they finished 3rd, 14th and 183rd National against 5,504 old birds. We also entered three yearlings, which were classified 16th and 130th National. We were already extremely impressed by those performances, and they only increased our expectations for the National Brive race. And then... we achieved the ultimate prize—a National victory. A National victory in an exceptionally tough race, flown under truly heroic conditions. Our 'Golden Supreme 109' is the hero of our loft. And certainly no ordinary pigeon, because before winning this National race he had already achieved:

• 7th National Brive against 3,491 pigeons.
• 43rd National Tulle against 5,751 pigeons.
• 59th National Souillac against 4,577 pigeons.
• and many more outstanding performances.

"Supreme"

Every fancier hopes to possess an exceptional breeding line, and we found ours through 'Sister Supreme'. Let me explain.
'Supreme' is currently owned by Herbots Brothers, but while racing for Godfried Vanderstichele he won 1st National Tulle against 6,206 pigeons and 2nd National Argenton against 11,838 pigeons. Dirk continues: "I am—or rather, I used to be—a building contractor. In the past, it was always a race against time to get everything finished, but nowadays I can take things a little easier. Our racing team consists of 22 hens (each with a partner staying at home), 18 cocks (also with partners remaining at home) and around 120 young birds, which are managed with great care. The hens are fed Aidi Mix, while the cocks receive Galaxy Sport Light and Galaxy Energy from Beyers. From a medical point of view, I naturally have complete confidence in Piet. His advice is always followed without question."
