After they won 1st National Cahors a few weeks ago with "Golden Medard", it was now up to “Golden Aimee” (named after Gino’s granddaughter) and “Silver Souillac” to claim the first two positions in the national Souillac race against 4,577 old birds.

A new national victory, and since the Cahors win marked their 10th national triumph, this win in Souillac brings their total to 11 national victories to celebrate. No wonder the sound of popping champagne corks echoed through the skies of Wevelgem!

“Golden Aimee”

"Golden Aimee" was basketed as the 3rd nominated old bird for Souillac. At 6:45 AM, the baskets were opened in Souillac, and at 4:30 PM and 5 seconds, "Golden Aimee" was clocked. That equaled an average speed of 1,134.40 m/min.

"Golden Aimee" is truly a top-class hen, with the following impressive results now on her record:

1st National Souillac – 4,577 birds
32nd National Souillac – 4,073 birds
34th National Poitiers – 10,547 birds
45th National Bergerac – 3,180 birds
57th National Limoges – 4,695 birds

“Golden Aimee” was raced from the loft where the birds are flown using the total widowhood system.

“Silver Souillac”

Exactly 4 minutes and 10 seconds after “Golden Aimee”, “Silver Souillac” also triggered the electronic clocking system, echoing its beep through the blue sky. That was good for 2nd National Souillac in the old birds category.

Gino, his daughter Laura, and son Jasper are no strangers to national ace pigeon titles, national KBDB championships, and national victories.
