Libourne is two weeks earlier than last year. Having said that, this is certainly not the reason for such a great craze to materialise a strong increase in numbers, mainly among yearlings. Old pigeons increased by 563 pigeons, or 17%, while yearlings showed a bonus of 1830 pigeons, or 61%. East Flanders and Brabant saw a slight fall in the number of old pigeons. In yearlings, all the provinces and EPRs are progressing with more or less significant yields, such as Limburg which is doubling its numbers, but Flemish Brabant is increasing its basketings by only 12%.

Release was possible from 7.15am, in temperatures of 13°C and a light WNW wind.

With the top 10 in sight, the illusion of a surge in prices in the provinces of Antwerp, Limburg and Flemish Brabant is obvious. However, the 2 Flanders provinces have made a strong recovery to become the majority in the top 100 for both old birds and yearlings.
