The results are rather positive for the old pigeons, whose numbers have increased by 88% compared to last year, rising from 5,166 to 9,922 pigeons. All the entities are in this progression. The EPR HBW and 2 Flanders doubled their numbers; the others increased between Antwerp 65% and Limburg 90%. The picture is not quite as clear in the young pigeons, which have fallen by 11% from 22,869 to 20,328 pigeons. Only Flemish Brabant and Antwerp maintained their numbers, with increases of 9% and 5% respectively. The LNL EPR fell by 40%, West Flanders by 28%, the HBW EPR by 20% and the others by around 10%.
Once again, the competition has been postponed. It was far from the only one this year. The pigeons were released at 8.20 a.m. under partly cloudy skies, a temperature of 16°C and calm weather. Thereafter, the race was run with a light N.W. wind.
The 3 N.E. provinces were able to dominate the competition, sharing the entire national top 10.

The pattern of the top 10 is very similar to that of the old races, with the same 3 provinces sharing it. It's much the same in the top 100, with Antwerp dominating even more, to the detriment of the other 2 provinces. Antwerp has 62 awards, Limburg 22, Flemish Brabant 12 and East Flanders 2. On the Walloon side, the last 2 places available are shared between Namur and Liège. West Flanders is still a long way from the national top 100.
Just as in the old provinces, Antwerp dominates the top 100 in terms of the number of awards, but it is the only one of the 3 not to win the national prize.
The diversity in the top 100 leaves little room for long series of prizes. A few amateurs stand out somewhat. This is the case of Dockx L & G ranked 10, 11, 54, 56, T Weytjens 18, 19, 48, 92...
The two Walloon entries in the top 100 are P Campinne 66 and JM Caro 76.
