Herbots | Bruges Barcelona club celebrates its champions 2023

It is a wonderful club, a strong organisation, and all those who feel connected in one way or another with the Barcelona flight or heavy long distance are happy to attend the annual celebration of the Bruges Barcelona Club. It was already the 46th edition which shows that good traditions that are kept alive also remain. The club has 850 members ! At the evening party there were about 300 people present in the beautiful location of the Vossenberg in Hooglede. The evening party is the apotheosis of a glorious day for the winners of the respective Golden-Silver and Bronze Wings. These Wing winners are taken to Bruges from as early as noon in fancy limousines for a trip on the canals of Bruges, a tasty bite to eat, the necessary conviviality marinated in a nice champagne. Nothing but satisfied faces among these who got to experience it. In the evening, when the other guests-attendants have lost their first comments during a tasteful reception, a delicious dinner follows in a pleasant setting. The organisers spare no effort to give flowers and trophies to all those who played at the front of the rankings. In a smooth direction between the courses of the dinner, everyone is lauded.

It was Ivan Baetens who welcomed everyone and then, in cooperation with the other board members, ensured a smooth direction and evening. Flanders, and by extension Belgium, is known for its pigeon sport and specifically Barcelona...but equally for an unrivalled ambient performer Willy Sommers. There is no wear and tear on this top artist, who fills the dance floor in no time and gets the whole crew into his recital of well-known songs. Over the seven carnations and seven roses, to the lion in his cage, to the sun shining in everyone's heart....unlimited fun. Willy is a top performer, and almost like a practised Barcelona aviator, he is reliable in his quality. He is clearly still in the mood and beams at what he gets in return from the audience.

After the adrenaline had been rushed to unprecedented heights by Willy, it was time for the laureates of the evening and the season namely the honouring of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Wings. It remains a magical moment to see this sporting muscle united on a stage. Many in the room could already taste this success, many dreaming of realising it in the future. It remains the flight of flights and the Bruges Barcelona Club organisation is a wonderful, tasty sauce poured over it all.

It was a beautiful celebration, they are beautiful laureates. Long live the Brugse Barcelonaclub !
