Hendriks Jo & Florian (Nijswiller) are enjoying the force explosions from “Bully Harry” and “National Harry”

22 Jan 2020

We already have seen many thing from the father-son combination Jo & Florian Hendriks from Nijswiller (NL) but what they did the past season is only for something for the greatest within the international pigeon sport.

Weekend of the 6th of July…a world result on national Argenton with “Bully Harry” as conqueror

Let us start off with the weekend of the 6th of July. On the racing program there was Argenton…571km away from Wijswiller. At the start you could find 9,512 pigeons basketed from 1,113 fanciers with 16 of them with a ring number from Jo and Florian Hendriks around their paw. The release itself took a bit longer due to rain showers nevertheless the clouds opened up and at 09 o’clock the baskets were opened. A calm wind came out of Western direction. When the results came up there was only one loft they spoke about and that was the amazing result from Jo & Florian Hendriks. They won against 9,512 pigeons: 1-2-3-4-5-23-48-51-113-152-250-279 (12/16). Such a results says more than a thousand words…a proof of pure class!
The arrival of the Argenton racers is one that Jo and Florian will never ever forget. At 16h02 they clocked with a difference of only 2 seconds. In fact there were 3 pigeons at that same time but the chip from the first cock that went in wasn’t registered so top widow cock “Bully Harry” (NL18-5112260) could claim the palm.

“Bully Harry” isn’t a one day fly at all and could already present underneath palmaris:
1 National Argenton 9,512b.
5 National Chateauroux 7,503b.

237 NPO La Souterraine 1,725b.

The 2nd registered pigeon was “National Harry” (NL17-1545145) but we will mention this one later on in this article.
Let us be honest…this Argenton result is one to frame and to place it at the best spot in your living room.

Weekend of 21st of July… Chateauroux National…again a double victory with “National Harry” at the top of the list.

The 7,503 Chateauroux racers (basketed by 1,004 fanciers) had to stay in the basket one day extra as the release on Saturday was postponed due to the bad weather. The weather was much better on Sunday and they were released at 07h00. The favourites on this race were Jo & Florian Hendriks…the consequence of their stunt of 2 weeks before. And…we can say that they lived up to their favourite status as again they took a double victory for their account ! Chateauroux 7,423 pigeons : 1-2-5-141-145-172-317-418-439-448-803-963-1537 (13/14).

The 8th prize national is behind the ring number from “National 8” (NL18-5112232), a grandson to “Son Zina” x “Klein Dirkje” (Koopman) and also a grandson “New Harry” (winner 1/14,737b. – 1/12,894b.) x “Sister Harry”

A GOLDEN BREEDING LOFT WITH “HARRY” AND “KLEINE GERARD” AS BASE

At the beginning Jo had pigeons from ao. Janssen via Wout Sleulders (Neunen) and this out of all his toppers like “Het Kanon”, “De Generaal” and “Olympiade 08”. Via uncle Thijs Vluggen (Gulpen) the “Kleine 273” came on to the loft and the offspring of this top pigeon is unique. His son “Popeye” was a super breeder and his off spring are still to be found in the current pigeons.
In 2008 Jo and Florian decided to align the game of the old pigeons totally on the long distance races and that’s why they did some targeted sales in buying pigeons from known champions such Gaby Vandenabeele, Jan Hooymans, Gerard Koopman and Verkerk Gerard & Bas (daughter out of “Eye Catcher”).
The breeding loft of our champions is a wealth on top quality as at this moment there are no less than 10 direct children form the world famous “Harry” (NL07-2007621 - 7 sons and 3 daughters) and about 10 original Gerard Koopman pigeons (especially out of the strain “Zina”). Next to this our champions are also very successful with children out “King Kong” (NL09-1499901 – 5 x 1st prize), a full sister to “Friendship” (Jan & Rik Hermans) and the explosive breeding line from “Kleine Gerard”. We like to talk about this last one a bit further.

“Kleine Gerard” NL14-1359081 – 100% Gerard Koopman won himself: 2nd NPO Bourges 8,278b. – 4th NPO Montluçon 1,310b. – 5th NPO Lorris 5,537b. – 13th Prov. Rethel 10,912b. – 17th NPO Lorris 5,166b. – and so on…
