It is a very proud man that we can congratulate on his national victory out of Chateauroux. There is just no stopping here at moment as Roger also won two weeks ago the 1st National Z Bourges. The ‘good condition fairy’ is clearly present on the lofts in the Kasteelstraat and who knows what the future will bring.
Roger basketed 12 pigeons (6 old and 6 year birds) for the national race out of Chateauroux and in his club he managed to get 8 on the list of results. The big triumphant is off course “Chateaurouxke”(B18-2060524) , the national winner against no less than 24,611 year birds. This small chequered hen is part of a team that is being raced on total widowhood. This racing team exist out of 27 cocks and 18 hens. He keeps about 10 summer youngsters to fill up the gap between cocks and hens. The racers were being coupled in January and could raise a couple of youngsters.

“HET CHATEAUROUXKE”

The national winner is of the smaller type…a stack of dynamite with vibrating muscles. This national race out Chateauroux was her debut on a national level. “Het Chateaurouxke” is a direct Lossignol-Kemerlinck pigeon and has a lot of blood of the successful Willem de Bruijn running through her veins. She wasn’t motivated in a special way. Just as always she was being tossed on Wednesday together with the other hens and at home coming of this short training flight they can run around for a few minutes in the hallway in front of the cocks. At the day of basketing they are just being taken out of their loft and basketed. Only at home coming the cocks and hens can come together for about 4 hours.
And the rest of the game is trying to keep it as simple as possible. As base mixture they get 50% sport and 50% super diet (mixtures from 5 different manufacturers are being bought) and the last 2 days they get 100% sport mixture. In a medical way they consult vet Raf Herbots but aside a cure against trichomoniases and the succession by giving yellow drops (via the drinking water) nothing else has been given so far. He does give on a regular base a drop in the eye of the racers.
