At the beginning of December, more specific December 16th’18, we will present the partial auction of the pigeons of Paul & Sven Saeytijdt from Brakel. It’s a colony that belongs to the top of the long distance races for many years and most certainly on the international races.
During the season 2018, their “Roden Pau” again exploded on the race from Pau but they regret that he didn’t return home from the very difficult race from Perpignan.
Nevertheless, we would like to mention his top results.
The Roden Pau, B14-4226077, was born in 2014. As a yearling, he was well prepared to the LD-races with:
Pont St.Maxence: 36° against 489 Yrl., further along, he went to Chalons, where he won 18° against 104 Yrl. On his first national race from Jarnac, he won a prize per 10 in the zone with 180° against 2216 Yrl and national 455° against 4559 Yrl.
Al a 2-year old cock, he scored from Vierzon, Limoges, Cahors and Libourne. Per 10, it was 3° Limoges 202 Old , 439° national 13493 Old.
As a 3-year old widower, he won prizes from Noyon, Toury, Vierzon, Limoges, Pau, St.Vincent and Perpignan or 3 International races! Among these top results like 42° National Pau 2135 Old, 208° International 11285 Old.
Last season, in 2018, he scored with prizes from Pithiviers, Vierzon, Pau and St.Vincent, on both international races, he scored within the national top 100: 17° National Pau 2581 Old, 165° I National 11706 Old and 65° National St. Vincent 2758 Old, 341 I. National 9544 Old. But then, he never returned home from Perpignan.

PAUL & SVEN SAEYTIJDT,  for many years, they belong to the top of Belgium on the Long- and Heavy Long distances.
This father and son combination know very well what they want. Paul will be 60 years old and his son Sven 38. Paul takes care of the young birds and Sven is responsible for the racing- and breeding team. The programmes are worked out, based on the possibilities. This team is like a well-oiled machine.
They work here with 24 breeders, which remain in boxes during the breeding period and afterwards, they can stay in the open aviary. They regularly receive another partner. The racing team is formed by +- 60 old and yearling cocks, which are fulfilled with a group of 50 hens. All of their activities are based on the LD-races! Every year, they ring about 150 youngsters, which get darkened because they need to get enough experience in their year of birth. This is very important for their future! (participating to a national race). Before the season, they don’t breed youngsters out of their racers, with the purpose to keep till minimum Perpignan, at the beginning of August. After the season, they do raise a youngster.
And the base ?
For many years now, Paul & Sven do very well on the LD-races. At the time, they build on their colony with the iron LD-racers of Luc Van Coppenolle (Ouwegem, Zingem), the famous Georges Carteus birds (Ronse), the Van Schoorisse Brothers (Maarkedal), Denis Druwez (Everbeek) and these last few years, tehre was the reinforcement of Marc & Francky Van De Walle (Zwalm). Nowadays, we can easily talk about the SAEYTIJDT pigeons. Pigeons that can score at the top of the LD-races for many years in a row.
