Andre Allemeersch (Pottes) : top class on the heavy middle distance

In part 1 you could read how the strong colony of Andre originated and how he takes care of the daily care of pigeons on top level or rather how he did it, because his health doesn't allow this anymore. Years after years of top performances on races from 100 km till 600 km, you can only do this if you have a strong breeding loft where only top quality is allowed. Breeding from such a basis and then achieving top results is an art and Andre has mastered this art, the very strong results are the best proof of this. The current sales include these strictly selected pigeons, with or without proven results. Also the scores 'in the hand' show that Andre is a strict selector and only top quality pigeons got a place on the breeding and racing loft.
Den Dikken (BE01-9038348) als onmiskenbare basisduif
"A strongly built blue cock, with a lot of feathers and muscles"...Andre still sounds very nostalgic when he talks about his basic pigeon Den Dikken. This stock pigeon had a splendid pedigree. His father was De Kampioen and came from the tandem Baekelandt-Dedeyne as a son of the As who flew no less than 4 times in 37 first provincial on Tours West-Vlaanderen. Coupled with La Merckx van Dedeyne from Halluin (Fr) they were a wonder couple. The hen La Merckx was a granddaughter of none other than the Merckx of Maurice Verheye. She was the mother of 1st Bourges, 5th Argenton, 2nd Vierzon prov., 1st Chateauroux prov., 2nd Argenton, 1st La Soutteraine prov. etc. - a stock hen hors catégorie - and mother of De Kampioen. De Kampioen (BE93-623127) was coupled to 't Hoerke (BE99-9177304) when they gave birth to Den Dikken. 't Hoerke was a hen from André Laurent from Vezon and a daughter of his top pigeon De Montauban. De Montauban flew 3 times in the 76 first national on Montauban (18th national, 46th national, 76th national). André was so quick to buy a daughter of this crack and to pair it with De Kampioen. As if Andre had a feeling of predestination, De Dikken was immediately put on the breeding loft and became the father of several top pigeons and top breeders. To anchor this strong line, 3 important children of him were kept on the breeding loft and all were very successful: De Filou, De Jonge Dikken and De 033. All these pigeons are still very much present in the blood of the present strain.
Thus Filou became the father of the national winner on Argenton 2019 from 23,258 pigeons !
1st National Argenton 2019 youngsters with 't Nationaalke
A beautiful blue bright hen brought the most beautiful palm to Pottes in 2019 on the national flight from Argenton. The national race from Argenton is a classic within the young pigeon programme. A pack of 23,258 young pigeons had to cope with a very nice flight at a minute speed of 1,297m, a fair flight. And it was the Nationalke (BE19-1077411) that brought this beautiful victory to Pottes. Andre played on this race a phenomenal result and besides several other prizes also the 12th national.
The Nationaalke is a daughter of the Filou or the golden line of the Dikken with as mother a crossing of the New Favoriet with Miranda (hen straight from Rino Verheye). The Nationaalke was that day the fastest pigeon of the whole pack which was released in Argenton (28,411 pigeons). Talk about a great performance!

2nd national ace KBDB long distance with De Limoges 2019
Also in the wonderful 2019 season, the 2nd national ace long distance pigeon was achieved with the Limoges (BE17-1051237). With a coefficient of 0.738 he was beaten for the gold by that other miraculous top pigeon namely The Pied Crack of Anthony Maes.

2nd national ace great middle distance KBDB 2019
As if 2019 could not get any better, the Fighter also won the 2nd national ace in the KBDB middle distance. A loft where in that season the formefee dominated. With a coefficient of 1.1292 they also won the silver on national level.

You can see the results 2021 below. Knowing that Andre could only take care of the pigeons on distance and 'on command' during the season 2021, the strength of the colony came out with very nice and regular results. The eye of the master makes the horse fat.... and with the unlimited help of his neighbour Ollivier, he still performed very well, considering all circumstances.
It needs no further explanation that the colony of André and Monique has a good and strong breeding line based on years of top results. In their own old strain they always looked for the best in the heavy middle-distance and long-distance races and they crossed in a lot of success. The input of Andre's professional knowledge forged this strong loft to top results. But, but, but...when the health makes it difficult, the fun and pleasure is hard to find. The efforts that this all required became too much for Andre and Monique and therefore they decided, with a lot of regret, to say goodbye to their pigeons. Health is the highest good and now all attention should go to that.
History should not and will not be rewritten, but nobody can ignore the top performances that were delivered at these lofts in Pottes, performances that are looked up to nationally and internationally.
